More than $91,000 in medical supplies and equipment are on their way to Centro Medico Vista Del Jardin Hospital in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, donated by Florida Hospital Heartland Division. This marks the second time FHHD has made a large donation to this third-world medical center which it sponsors. “This is just good stewardship of God’s resources,” says Mission Committee member Dave Marden.
As FHHD upgrades and replaces mammogram machine, film processors, hospital beds, baby warmers, sterilization machines and much more, the original equipment makes its way south to continue service. “It’s good to share our resources with others that don’t have the means,” said Chaplain Juan Colon.
This coordinated donation is made possible by the hard work of FHHD Mission Committee which works with all FHHD locations to collect still-viable equipment and supplies. The fully loaded semi truck should arrive early next week and be a welcomed addition to the southern medical facility. “FHHD services our mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ not only here in the Heartland, but in third-world countries too,” states Chaplain Bey Gonzalez.
