For more than 30 years, LifeLine has been the #1 provider for personal response systems in the nation. Lifeline helps more than 500 Heartland seniors or disabled people to live in their homes with greater independence and dignity, without this service many would be in nursing facilities. With the simple press of a button, at any time of the day or night, the subscriber quickly connects with a highly trained Lifeline staff. The staff member makes voice contact, reviews the individual's personal and medical profile, assesses the situation and then notifies the appropriate support and medical response team as required.
On June 2nd, Lifeline experienced a computer glitch when receiving calls from subscribers. All calls were answered, but the wait times were slightly longer than normal. “We would like to thank our customers for their patience during this incident. Teams at Lifeline worked 24/7 to fix this problem within 12 hours,” said Lifeline representative Nancy Alonzo.
“This has never happened in the 25 years that Florida Hospital has partnered with Lifeline,” stated Program Manager Grace Plants. She urges subscribers with questions or who want their boxes tested to call Florida Hospital at (863)402-5433 or Lifeline’s national phone number at (800) 852-5433 for immediate assistance.
Lueda Spriggs lived alone and had fallen multiple times in her own home. She did not want to move into an assisted living facility because she enjoys her independence. Her family was concerned for her health and safety, so they had Lifeline installed. “I have never felt so safe and secure,” says Ms. Spriggs.
